It has horribly late, the cold evening air nipped at Yao's cheeks and nose, but he was far too tired to care. For hours he'd been trying to get his little brother to sleep, and finally at long last, he was. Yong soo slumbered silently, his face pressed into the older nation's shoulder, his eyes tightly shut. Yao adjusted his arms a bit, gently cradling the tiny bundle, his head spinning from the tale he'd woven for the boy. He'd made it up on the spot, letting the boy suggest whatever he wanted and going with it, letting him come up with whatever moral he decided it had. It ended up being rather ridiculous, but it didn't matter all that much, as long as it helped the child sleep. Yao held very still, holding his sibling tenderly. It was a relief, not only for him, but for Yong Soo as well. China knew that the boy was tired, but it was always so difficult for him to settle down enough to actually fall asleep. He's asked why before, and the tiny Korean just blinked at him, explaining that the world was too quiet and his thoughts were too loud. This was a little troublesome to hear, and since then, Yao just started telling Yong Soo stories to take his mind off of everything else. Yao sighed as he listened to his little brother breathe. His breaths were slow and deep, the noises he made being far too soft to be considered snoring. Slowly, careful not to jostle the boy, Yao reached up and ran his fingers through his sibling's dark hair. Black as ink, though a little messy, it was soft and clean. He rested his cheek against the boy's head and closed his tired eyes, enjoying the peace while it lasted.
