Eduard was sitting on one of the couches in the common room, which was quickly also becoming a place he would spend lots of time at. He was working on an assignment for an English class that he seemed to be having a little bit of difficulty. Not a lot, but enough to actually annoy him. "I never said I was poet, "he quietly muttered as he was trying to think of an appropriate subject to even write about. Nothing seemed to be coming to mind and he was tiring of this assignment so he put the paper down and just took a moment to relax a little. Perhaps by getting a little tension out, he'd be able to kind of think of something.
He looked back at the assignment and just thought if this was the type of homework he'd be mostly getting. Not particularly difficult but sometimes just annoying. That would be rather inconvenient if that was the case but he picked up the paper after a few minutes and tried to form some kind of theme to work around.

How irritating! Usually she loved English class but this certain project was really trying her patience. She sighed lightly as her violet eyes swept the page and her teeth nibbled the top of her blue fine liner pen. This was getting ridiculous, what could she even write about; sure she had an idea of a theme her favouritest thing in the whole wide world! The stars, well the solar system, there was something just so magnificent about looking up at the sky at night and letting your worries disappear.
Maddie smiled at thought of sitting back and relaxing while the stars twinkled ahead in the blanketed blue of the night sky, but even then if she did have the correct muse actually turning them it into some sort of poetic text was proving very difficult. What even rhymed with stars. Cars? Well that didn’t sound very cool. Stupid assignment. She sighed and twisted the end of one of her long blonde braids around her slender fingers; something had to come out of the end.
A voice that broke the silence of the common room broke her from her thoughts. Turning around timidly she spotted a boy from her English class. She couldn’t remember his name but he seemed to working on the same project she herself was. Maybe he could help her? She stood up slowly and with shy footfalls made her way over to his figure, offering him a little smile her thoughts were confirmed when she spotted the English text book and note book.
“E-excuse me,” she began with a soft toned stutter “But I was wondering if you were doing the English assignment we were given today.” asked Maddie with a tiny smile. “I w-was having a little trouble with mine...” she began her voice trailing off quietly as embarrassment set in. Maybe she shouldn’t have bothered him; it was obvious he was busy he probably didn’t want her pestering him. “...and I was wondering if you had any idea on the type of rhyming scheme our teacher wanted us to attempt.” ... | notes - yey for lost peoplewords - 416credit - paddy, on the edge! |

Eduard looked up to see a girl that was in his English class asking him about the project. "Oh hi, I was indeed working on that assignment. It really seems to be doing me a number myself. I have no idea what to even write about." He knew that he was rather frustrated at this point and any assistance that he could get would be nice. He thought seriously this was a total pain to try and attempt this. Still he didn't mind one bit the girl asking him about, there might be a chance he could get get some help regarding this. "As for the rhyme scheme, " he said, I don't think that's particularly important, it's more about getting the form of a poem if my notes are correct. So technically a poem didn't really have to rhyme if it made more sense not to."

It was one of the reasons she was glad the teacher didn’t set them a theme it made things so much easier. Not that Maddie needed it to be easy, she loved a challenge as much as the next student it was just nice to have a break from all the hard work she’d been doing recently.
Oh if there wasn’t a designated rhyme scheme then that changed everything, with a thoughtful look slowly taking over her pale features her eyes settled on his paper. “O-or maybe there’s a memory?” she said offering up more ideas. “I’m Maddie by the way.” Said Madeline holding out her hand “it’s nice to meet you, I’m n-new to the school this year, but I’m r-really enjoying it here.” She said stopping herself from rambling on into a tangent. “Normally I love English.” She said with a little smile “But this assignments really got me stumped.” She said with a light chuckle.

"Actually that's not a bad idea thanks, " Eduard responded and started to put down a few lines about how technology had been interconnected with his life. Finally making some progress with this cursed assignment, he sighed with some relief in regards to what he managed to write so far."Oh I'm Eduard, nice to meet you. I'm also new and I'm trying to figure out how I feel about the place," he said as he gave Maddie a handshake. "Me personally, I'm usually pretty decent with academics in general but there was this really annoying thing about this assignment for me. I guess it was relative lack of inspiration."

He seemed nice which great, everybody seemed the least bit friendly so far and she’d already made a few acquaintances, which was great! It was such a change, but it was nice and she was beginning to feel accepted. She was being silly and sentimental but she was happy and that’s all that mattered to her. Maddie grinned as she let her hand drop. “It’s so weird I guess this schools a lot more different than I imagined.” Said Maddie happily, “everyone seems really nice.” She turned back to the English work on the table and inspected it with a gaze of her violet orbs. “Oh, I know what you mean.” Said Maddie softly a tiny smile broke across her features “I love school, well the learning part which I guess I’m pretty good at, n-not that I’m arrogant”” she quickly assured “I just love learning.” She must have sounded so stupid, but it was too late to rectify the situation. “Hm, I guess I’m just stuck with how to structure it.” Said Maddie “I think it’s far too broad a scale to narrow my theme down to one type of poem.” Said Maddie thoughtfully “But I’m sure I’ll think of something, I mean it can’t be too hard.”

"I'm sure you will as well. I definitely see what you mean when you say that you love learning," Eduard said to her and he mean it. He was always a rather sincere sort and essentially he also loved learning so it was good to find someone here that he had something in common with."Also, let me tell you something, I'm still trying to adjust to being here myself. I didn't really know what to expect, probably just an average boarding school. However, it seems like this place is rather different so I've been taken off-guard myself." It didn't take an awful lot for him to get to revealing his opinion but he just kind of wanted to talk to someone about what he was thinking about the whole thing, and he was beginning to at least like Maddie as a possible friend. Oh don't be so distracted, you have a poem to finish, he thought to himself before writing the last few stanzas for this poem. Just glad to have it out of the way.

Which was true, when Maddie had arrived at the academy she’d shuffled along the corridors with her head down trying her best not to draw any sort of attention to herself. Her worst fear when she’d arrived was that some upper class student (or even lower class) would find a reason to pick on her. It happened at her old school, so why wouldn’t it happen here? Nevertheless she was glad it hadn’t happened. She was happy hear and she was glad she was settling in. Her violet gaze fell back onto the papers in her hands, she’d written a single line. How academic of her. She frowned and turned back to Eduard.
“Oh, d-do you mind if I set here?” she asked with a small smile “I think it’ll be better working together then struggling on by ourselves, eh.”
She sat her papers down and sat on the couch, it was soft and really comfy, though she guessed the academy only had the best couches ordered for their students. Maddie put pen to paper and frowned crumpling her brow as crossed out the work she’d previously began. This theme wasn’t working for her at all. She nibbled the end as her thoughts wondered what she could possibly use. Maybe coming to the academy could be a good choice. After all she’d learned so much already, not to mention leaving her home had been sad. It was perfect. A triumphant smile flickered across her pale lips as she returned the blue pen to the paper, and began to scribble out a quick plan for her work. It was quiet in the common room, but it was nice. Nice and peaceful. ... | notes - yey for lost peoplewords - 416credit - paddy, on the edge! |

"Oh I don't mind at all, feel free, " Eduard responded now in a little better mood after finding that he was able to make a few lines actually work within the context of the poem. He looked over the entire poem a few times to make sure there were no unnecessary errors that weren't giving any meaning to the poem. He acknowledged that there seemed to be a fair number of periods but mostly that was to have an affect similar to the breaking up of lines when coding something. He thought that would be a nice touch when it came down to it. Finding the poem satisfactory, he managed to relax a little on the couch enough to that it was a nice place to work, the room in general as well as the emphasis on comfort in most areas.
He thought for a moment about what he would actually do when he was done here. Would he stay for a moment or maybe go back to his room for a nap. Or maybe it was time to get more work done on a project he had been looking at. Or just go walk around somewhere, he didn't really know. There were a lot of things he could do for a variety of reasons. He just really had no idea what to do then.
